 "Don't dream it - be it." In MY opinion, the handing out of awards have always been done with a specific purpose in mind. It is to cause anybody who has been chosen good enough to be able to RECEIVE an award, to feel so incredibly proud about what they've achieved in life, that it lifts the human spirit to its highest height of individual satisfaction, thereby having such a positive effect on the recipient, that they will strive to become even BETTER than they ever were BEFORE! 
Here
in the Internet community, those of us who have created web sites feel
the exact same way about OUR awards
and it is forTHIS reason
that we are so very excited whenever we both give AND receive
awards within the context of the Net. Since
I believe in not applying for any of my awards, the fact that my peers
have seen fit to graciously bestow them upon me as the spirit moved
them,
attaches to them an even more PRECIOUS
